Raj Thamotheram is the founder & co-chair of Preventable Surprises, a research and advocacy group that helps investors address systemic risks. As head of ESG investing at USS, he founded IIGCC, Pharma Futures, EAI and the Marathon Club.  At AXA IM, he initiated the strategy to mainstream ESG integration across all asset classes, and spearheaded the launch of the AXA Framlington Human Capital Fund. He is widely recognised as an ESG pioneer, was twice nominated as “one of the 10 most influential figures in corporate governance” and voted 7th in an Extel list of “most positive contribution” to ESG in 2017. He writes regularly (including a monthly column for IPE, “Long Term Matters”) and lectures widely.
