
Wim Bartels
Partner Corporate Reporting, KPMG Netherlands
Wim is a partner of KPMG Sustainability in the Netherlands for sustainability assurance services and corporate reporting. He has served as KPMG’s Global Head of Sustainability Reporting & Assurance Services until 2017 and has been responsible for all sustainability assurance engagements of KPMG Sustainability from 2007 to 2017.
As a partner Corporate Reporting he focuses on the disclosure of value creation by companies, in terms of risks and opportunities and reporting on value drivers – including sustainability aspects.
He has given speeches across the world on sustainability and wider reporting and has served on a number of panels to discuss both reporting and other sustainability topics – always from a business perspective. He has served as the lead author of KPMG’s publication on Green Bonds called ‘Gearing up for Green Bonds’ (2015). He has also served as the lead author on the KPMG International Survey of Corporate Responsibility Reporting 2015 (November, 2015).
Currently Wim is a member of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures, which is installed by the Financial Stability Board and led by Mr. Michael Bloomberg.
Finally, he serves as the Program Lead for the Corporate Reporting Dialogue since January 2017.
